Bands have been combing rock and electronic elements for some time. The Killers and Klaxons all made a bee line for the mainstream and ended up as not only front runners of their respective scenes but chart dominating superstars. The Exits may have a similar knack for moments of uplifting bliss and giddy choruses but they also possess a distinctly English trait. The Exits’ sound continually evolves from electronica smattered guitar based tracks, to a heavy synthesised, dance orientated assault.
By the back end of 2007 the band had already performed at the HI FI South Festival and the Primal Scream end of tour after show party. Here they supported indie legends like Bez (Happy Mondays, Black Grape), Mani (The Stone Roses, Primal Scream) and, more recently, The Whip to name a few. Less than modest names for a modest bunch of lads, we are sure you’ll agree. Shortly after, The Exits struck a publishing deal with independent publisher Seeca Music followed by a signing to London’s Criminal Records.
The Exits debut single ‘Neon City’ and self-titled EP, shares the confidence of Kasabian or Oasis, but is peppered with electronica and exudes youthful exuberance. Their brand of dance infused indie is feel-good and fun, and showcases their influences from the likes of Primal Scream and Death In Vegas. Including Remixes from DJ Daztronik (Wireless FM), Leeds based rising star, Bobby O’Donnell and Portmsouths’ DJ Udy, the ‘Neon City’ single is a promising start for The Exits.
In recent weeks, MTV has just signed a deal to feature the bands new track on the forthcoming series of Dirty Sanchez. In addition, their video has just been selected for a video feature on Bebo, and playlisted on Q Tracks, Sky TV. The band are currently playing a number of spot dates leading up to their UK tour.

Bebo Exits The Music Market
Bebo has become the first of the social networking sites to make a stand for UK independents. On independents day, the first band video addressing Bebo fans directly was featured on the site. Securing the first personalised video feature, The Exits recorded their special message for Bebo friends, and supported their debut single ‘Neon City’ (Criminal Records). As part of Bebo’s current campaign for new independent music, this new involvement from key independent labels is likely to become important leverage for increasing Bebo’s young music demographic. The first feature of its kind, this is a further demonstration of Bebo’s willingness to score over MySpace. “This is an excellent step to support independent labels such as Criminal Records. The Exits are very keen on the idea too and had a lot of fun putting the feature together.”
